Closing Your Diesel Crankcase - The Benefits

Closing the crankcase of your diesel engine with The Condensator is guaranteed to make your engine run cleaner and more efficiently with reduced emissions and lower operating costs.

The Condensator eliminates the problem of blow-by fouling your engine compartment. All crankcase emissions vented through the draft tube are contained by The Condensator. The oily mist that coats everything in your engine room is trapped by The Condensator and collected for convenient disposal. The volatile fuel is returned to the air intake, reducing fire hazard. The engine compartment is a safer place to work because the toxic emissions are contained.

The Condensator improves efficiency by returning unburned fuel to the air intake. Crankcase emissions include light-end fuels that escape past the piston rings prior to combustion. The patented 2-stage absorption separator traps the oil, soot and other heavy particles while allowing the light-end fuels to pass through. These light-end fuels act as an excellent combustion catalyst when returned to the air intake. They enable the proper fuel-air ratio to be achieved earlier in the combustion cycle so more complete combustion is realized. This increases efficiency and reduces the soot that is formed by incomplete combustion.

The Condensator reduces your operating and maintenance costs. By increasing engine efficiency, fuel costs are reduced. Since the oily mist is no longer vented in the engine compartment, cleanup is reduced, air filters last longer and damage to other equipment in the engine compartment is prevented. Less soot is formed through more complete combustion. This means less wear is caused by soot and sludge. The Condensator prevents moisture from entering the crankcase. When moisture is present in the crankcase, it reacts with sulfurous and nitrous oxides to form corrosive acids that wear down engine components, seals and oil. By reducing the formation of acids in the crankcase. The Condensator reduces engine wear and extends oil change intervals. Your oil will retain its acid neutralizing capabilities longer.

The Condensator will make your diesel more environmentally friendly. Using less fuel generates fewer emissions. The fuel you use is burned more completely so cancer causing particulate emissions are reduced. Oil, soot and acids currently vented to the atmosphere are trapped for proper disposal. Volatile hydrocarbons currently vented are reused. Preventing the formation of acids reduces your contribution to fish killing acid rain. Note: simply venting crankcase emissions overboard is NOT solving the problem.

The Condensator eliminates the problem of blow-by creating an oily mess. It is good for your bottom line and the environment. It will make your boat safer. Manufacturing defects, please return for immediate replacement.

Please read instructions completely before starting

Important: Use pipe sealer on all connections.

    1. Remove a section of the aluminum intake tubing at a place between the air filter and the turbocharger where it will be convenient to attach a hose.

    2. Drill one 1" hole and insert the bulk head fitting with the hex nut on the outside and the 1/2" pipe x 3/4" hose adaptor also pointing outside.

    3. Re-assemble air intake system.

    4. Cut road draft tube so that there is only a 4" section left.

    5. Using a #12 hose clamp, attach a short section of 3/4" hose to this 4" section of road draft tube.

    6. Using a #12 hose clamp, attach pressure relief adaptor to the other end of hose that is attached to the road draft tube.

    7. Using #12 hose clamps, attach another section of 3/4" hose to the other end of the pressure relief adaptor and attach the other end of that hose to a "Y" connector.

    8. Find a suitable location, such as the firewall, to mount The Condensator units. They should be kept away from extreme heat such as exhaust manifolds. The shorter the hoses are, the more efficient the system will be.

    9. Mount The Condensator units onto chosen location. Attach The Condensator with supplied mounting assemblies.

    10. Using #10 hose clamps, attach two sections of 5/8" hose to "Y" connector leading from the crank case and attach the other ends of the 5/8" hose to crankcase inlet ports on each Condensator.

    11. Using #10 hose clamps, attach two short sections of 5/8" hose to the intake outlet ports of each Condensator and attach the other ends to the second "Y" connector.

    12. Using a #12 hose clamp, attach a section of 3/4" hose from the "Y" connector to their bulk head fitting that has been attached to the intake pipe.

    13. Tie up the hoses with nylon tie straps.
